Washing Instructions

The One size nappies can be washed at a maximum temperature of 95c however a normal 40-60c wash should be sufficient. Use only a non-biological powder and no fabric conditioners. For a cleaner smell and antibacterial agent you could add a couple of drops of Lavender or Tea Tree oil to the fabric conditioner compartment, or a couple of caps of distilled vinegar.

Many people like to wash their nappies separate from the main wash, however if the nappies aren' t badly stained you could wash with the rest of the family' s clothes if you wished.

We recommend that you take the nappy apart before washing, however if this isn't possible due to time or conditions please make sure that the fold over tabs on the aplix version are used, this prevents damage to other items and keeps the aplix fluff free. When drying this nappy please gently pull apart the two pieces and dry separately, this helps cut drying time, also prevents damage if using a tumble drier. When totally dry put back together and store in a warm dry box or cupboard.

The covers can only be washed to a maximum of 60c occasionally, again a 30-40c is plenty. Use only a non-biological powder and no fabric conditioners. Please always use the fold back tabs, this prevents damage to other items and keeps the aplix fluff free.

When the wash programme is complete remove from the machine and you can either air/line dry – never on direct heat such as a radiator, as this will damage the waterproofing and elastic. The covers may feel dry but please do check at the front and leg gussets. To save yourself time we suggest that you prepare your nappies for the next time by putting them together again complete with the fresh bio-liners. Whilst baby is asleep and you are enjoying some peace watching the television is a great time. Changing your babies nappy might take a little longer but it will give you more time for some one-one chat that all babies love.

Nappy Rash

There is no proven link between nappy rash and washable nappies. Generally nappy rash is caused by one of the following a) having a dirty nappy on for too long b) insufficient cleansing c) teething and in the case of real nappies d) occasionally too much soap powder being used.
